The Bushnell Athletic Department is a member of the NAIA and Cascade Collegiate Conference. Bushnell currently sponsors 19 athletic teams including: baseball, basketball (men’s and women’s), beach volleyball, cross country (men’s and women’s), esports, track & field and indoor track (men’s and women’s), golf (men’s and women’s), soccer (men’s and women’s), softball, volleyball, and wrestling (men’s and women’s).
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Athletic Director, coach, plan, organize, recruit for, and coordinate the Bushnell University Wrestling Program.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
· Direct all aspects of the wrestling program: including recruiting, scholarship distribution, spiritual formation, budgeting, scheduling, rules compliance, practice and game preparation, scheduling of contests, and supervision of assistant coaches
· Plan, organize, coordinate, and coach wrestling within the academic, spiritual formation and athletic philosophies of Bushnell University, local, and national conferences; verify eligibility of student athletes according to established regulations and procedures
· Provide a safe environment for training and competition for student-athletes and coaches
· Plan and organize team travel including transportation, lodging, and meals for away competitions
· Maintain and implement a training program for on and off season
· Organize and run practice sessions
· Hire, evaluate and supervise assistant coaching staff
· Conduct fundraising activities for the program (examples could include summer camp or raffle ticket sales)
· Assist in design and structure of wrestling training facility
· Assist with wrestling room infrastructure, management (scheduling) and cleaning
· Attend all Athletic Director and/or Vice President for Student Development assigned events and functions
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Vice President for Student Development
· Create Alumni relations
Special Requirements:
Knowledge of/ability to:
· Understand and work toward the goals of Bushnell University and NAIA Athletics
· Know collegiate policies, procedures and trends related to Intercollegiate Athletics
· NAIA and Cascade Collegiate Conference philosophy, rules, regulations, regarding eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, recruiting, sports playing seasons, etc.
· Proper coaching and motivation techniques
· Body mechanics principles, flexibility and strength training
· High pedagogy of wrestling
· Understanding of wrestling room safety and facility coordination
· Goals and objectives of assigned activity
· Risk management and safety regulations; applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
· Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
· Budget preparation and control
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Operation of computer and applicable software
Experience and Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required. Five years of consecutive coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred (head high school and/or club accepted). National License Certification in related field and extensive participation in the sport of wrestling preferred,

· The position is subject to evening, weekend, and variable working hours including holidays.
· The position requires driving a vehicle.
· The position may require lifting up to 50 lbs, as well as bending, stooping, and kneeling.
