Public Events and Sponsorships Coordinator

Overview: The College Football Playoff is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative and experience-focused individual to play an integral role within the CFP’s Public Events and Sponsorship Team. The person holding this position will coordinate CFP corporate sponsorship fulfillment as well as the management and oversight of public events and activations in conjunction with the Senior Director of Public Events and Sponsorships, to deliver best-in-class guest experience at all CFP public events. The role will also collaborate with the CFP’s Brand Marketing and Communications team on the marketing, promotion, fan engagement and experiential elements of the events and activations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Help manage the CFP relationship with CFP’s media partners and other external partners, providing exceptional, timely and responsive service

  • Help develop and manage sellable CFP assets

  • Assist with the fulfillment of official CFP sponsors obligations including the management of brand marks, delivery of hospitality assets, coordination of game week parking needs, etc.

  • Manage logistics for products and services donated by sponsors at CFP events

  • Work directly with CFP sponsors on their activation and branding plans

  • Help establish and manage budgets for CFP sponsorship fulfillment and generate periodic reports comparing budgets with actual expenses

  • Manage invoicing and billing reconciliation for the department

  • Develop payment schedules and invoices for CFP sponsors and track payments

  • Manage relationships with concessionaires at event venues

  • Manage premium item giveaways and restrictions for CFP sponsors and activation parnters

  • Manage delivery portal and timely collection of sponsor and talent media assets and sponsor collateral

  • Assist with management, planning, and execution of all public events and initiatives (Playoff Fan Central, Playoff Playlist Live, Championship Tailgate, Trophy Trot, Taste of the Championship, Playoff Green, Clean Zone, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the CFP’s Brand Marketing and Communications team on the ideation, development and on-site execution of marketing and promotional campaigns aimed at driving awareness and attendance at CFP public events

  • Assist with on-site event operations to create welcoming, safe and memorable environments that exceed fan and guest expectations

  • Assist with post-event evaluation and surveying that captures fan experience feedback, net promoter score and other relevant metrics to help inform future planning and events

  • Seek out new, innovative fan-first activations and events that increase the profile of the CFP brand

  • Assist with the execution and fulfillment of artist talent contracts, including artist payments, submission and approval of artist collateral, and delivery of hospitality elements

  • Help coordinate sponsor activations and fulfillment within public event areas

  • Colloborate with host committee on local issues realative to public event facilities (e.g., contracts, unions, corkage, sampling)

  • Help manage freight and parcel shipments to and from the host city for the CFP staff

  • Other duties as assigned


Reports to: Senior Director of Public Events and Sponsorships

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • One or more years of applicable corporate sponsorships experience required

  • Ability to manage, prioritize and bring multiple projects to completion required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required

  • Must be able to main confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters

  • Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing college sports environment required

  • Ability to work under pressure and autonomously required

  • Self-motivation required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, at a minimum, required

  • Basic experience with graphics tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva) preferred

  • Previous experience in a fan/guest-facing role preferred

  • Flexibility to work long hours including evenings and weekends during November, December and January required
