
Job Duties: This position will serve as the primary facilitator and planner for Conference Carolinas championships and will attend the majority of championships as the tournament director. The position will also perform some additional office duties. The Director will report to both the Commissioner and the Associate Commissioner for Championships and Internal Relations and will have some oversight of the conference’s 10-month internship position. Primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Serve as the conference’s primary facilitator and planner for conference championships including, but not limited to:
Create championship handbooks and pre-championship preparatory work for the majority of championships in coordination with the championship director of each.
Create pre-championship meeting agendas and associated materials/links.
Coordinate travel arrangements for staff.
Oversee the packing process for each championship.
Ensure all hotel and hospitality activities are handled for all conference championships, whether on site or remotely.
Oversee the implementation of ticket sales for all championships through HomeTown Ticketing.
Assist the Associate Commissioner for Championships and Internal Relations with the conference awards program including the placement of orders with an awards vendor for all conference trophies, plaques, and awards.
Assist the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner for Championships and Internal Relations with the championship bid and selection process.
Secure venue contracts with successful bids for neutral site conference championships.
Serve as the primary championship director for championships as assigned. It is anticipated that this position will serve as the on-site championship director for at least 11 distinct conference championship events.
Serve as the primary pre-event championship director for championships as assigned. Other conference staff will serve as the on-site director for these championships. It is anticipated that this position will handle all preparatory work for (but not attend) at least four distinct championship events.
Attend other championships, developmental championships, and preliminary round championship competition as assigned.
Oversee ball contracts for all sports as applicable, including ensuring balls arrive for conference championships in a timely manner.
Work with the Commissioner on implementing the conference’s ejection policy by tracking ejections for all sports and producing timely letters when a coach or student-athlete is ejected from a contest.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a minimum of 1-3 years of collegiate athletics experience or comparable. A bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree is preferred. The individual will possess strong verbal, written, and online communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Exceptional organizational skills are required. The ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines is essential for success. Travel and night and weekend work are required as needed to attend championship events.
Physical Job Components:
Able to use office and telecommunication equipment.
Traveling as well as night and weekend work expected.
Ability to lift at least 20 pounds when transporting equipment during championship assignments.
Ability to clearly communicate in writing and orally to various constituents.
