Department Summary:

Drake University's Athletics Department competes in the Missouri Valley Conference at the NCAA Division I level. Bulldog student-athletes thrive in the classroom and their respective field of play. Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Compliance will assist the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance with all day-to-day operations of a Division 1 NCAA Compliance Office. The Assistant Director will help manage and monitor all pillars of NCAA Compliance including financial aid, education, initial and continuing eligibility, recruiting, Playing & Practice Seasons, Rules Interpretations, and will assist in NCAA reporting. The position requires constant, prompt, and accurate communication to all institutional staff, coaches, and student-athletes. Understanding of all NCAA Applications and NCAA Compliance Software will be important for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Baccalaureate Degree – knowledge of specialized principles or techniques normally obtained through a four-year college/university academic program or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program directly related to the type of work being performed

-1-3 years of experience in an athletics department including internship or part-time work

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree preferred, not required.

Job Duties:

  • 20% - Assist in compliance monitoring of initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, and playing and practice seasons. 

  • 20% - Assistant in the distribution and upkeep of compliance office records and student-athlete files & forms.

  • 15% - Assist in the recruiting process, including official and unofficial visits, pre-approvals, recruiting monitoring by tracking contacts and evaluations, and education as necessary. 

  • 15% - Coordinate the textbook distribution process. 

  • 10% - Maintain Roster Management in Teamworks.

  • 10% - Assist the ticket office with all complimentary admissions through ARMS.

  • 10% - Provide other duties as assigned.
