Assistant Public Relations Director

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee and direct all public relations efforts for assigned teams.

Develop comprehensive plans to increase visibility of student-athletes and coaches, promote team success and maximize official social media channels through consistent, engaging content through weekly, monthly and annual content calendars.

Responsible for writing and distributing press releases in a timely fashion, both before and after events, as well as arranging all media opportunities for assigned sports, including preview availabilities, post-game press conferences and feature stories. Ensure all information is accurate and follows AP style.

Responsible for collecting accurate statistics from games and managing game day PR staff for assigned sports. Ensure statistics are uploaded to FSU's athletics website, the NCAA and conference offices in a timely fashion and keep an archive of individual and team statistics.

Update and maintain Seminoles.com, FSU's official athletics website, for assigned sports. Tasks include updating schedules, rosters, bios, news and specialty pages.

Responsible for the publication of a record book for assigned sports, completed and posted on Seminoles.com prior to the start of each competition season. Create and update a game notes packet regularly during the season and a postseason media document as needed.

Serve as the main contact for TV producers, directors and on-camera personnel as well as all media outlets and visiting team public relations staff personnel for home competitions. Responsible for producing and assigning media credentials for assigned sports consistent with policies set forth by the Florida State public relations office.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in a public relations/communications role or a combination of post high school education and related experience equal to seven years.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a Division I athletics public relations/communications office.

Other Information

Assigned sports are likely volleyball and softball.
