
The Assistant Athletic Director for Development reports directly to the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Cardinal Athletic Fund's annual giving, hospitality, and stewardship events, as well as assisting in the identification of major gift opportunities for the department of athletics. This position will work closely with other external initiatives, including marketing, corporate partnerships, media relations, and ticketing.
Primarily supports Lamar Athletics through Annual Giving by actively working to grow Cardinal Athletics Fund membership, increase donor retention, and enhance philanthropic revenue generation.
Assist with the renewal process, communication plan, stewardship, and fulfillment operations.
Assist with the premium seating sales program for Football and Basketball.
Oversee assigned events and assist with all events, to include Cardinal Athletics Fund hospitality areas, sport reunions, sport-specific fundraisers, donor recognitions, etc.
Serves as primary contact for all hospitality vendors.
Support various units and initiatives within Athletics, including ticket operations, licensing, marketing, corporate partnerships, and media.
Manage an active portfolio and develop qualification, cultivation, and solicitation strategies for prospects that lead to growth in annual and major giving for Athletics.
Support the mission and vision of The Cardinal Athletic Fund, as well as that of Lamar University, with integrity and in compliance with all NCAA, conference, and University rules, policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to the position summary and essential job functions.
2 years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience working with development and hospitality in college or professional sports or equivalent; master’s degree preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s Degree and 3+ years progressively increasing responsibility working with development and hospitality in college or professional sports or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
This position required sitting and standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 25 pounds while performing the essential functions as described within the essential job functions.
