Assistant Director of Ticket Operations

The Assistant Director of Ticket Operations position will be assigned specific department/sport ticket operation responsibilities. Duties include system event creation and management, inbound and outbound sales calls, supervising part-time staff, set-up and tear down, selling via the box office, scanning/taking tickets, gate operations, and other duties as described. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee assigned athletic and university ticketed event operations including event creation, management, and then on site set-up and breakdown of assigned events

  • Communications including website management, texting, emails, etc.

  • Ensure a high-level of customer service is maintained both in the office and at events

  • Assist in the renewal process for season tickets with an emphasis on client retention

  • Maintain proper cash handling procedures including daily and nightly deposits

  • Assist with daily maintenance of ticket software system and office equipment

  • Assist with creation of event sales and revenue reports

  • Process ticket orders using ticket software and equipment along with cash handling and settlement

  • Event specific responsibilities including supervision, assigned tasks, management, ticket selling, etc. as assigned.

  • Maintaining systems such as ticket software, group ticket software, CRM, seat selection, website maintenance, and more.

  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.

  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Provide oversight and guidance to part-time staff during daily operating hours as well as volunteers during assigned events

  • Provide oversight and guidance to Ticket Office Associate positions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • 1 Years experience in related field

  • Cash handling/sales experience

  • Must be able to perform well under stress and maintain a positive attitude

  • Must be able to stand for hours at a time at both indoor and outdoor events

  • Availability including nights, weekends, and university breaks

Preferred Experience:

  • Cash handling and/or sales

  • Customer service via in-person and over the phone

  • Experience in a Division 1 Athletics Department

  • Experience with the Paciolan ticketing software system Eloqua, Salesforce, Ballena, Vozzi, and FEVO or similar industry systems.

  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Computer and scheduling skills.

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Required to travel to local and campus locations.

  • May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.

  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.

  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop in order to conduct business.

  • Regularly lift 40 or fewer pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors. Noise level is dependent on the event but please note that there will be times of high noise level. Some travel is required for this position.

Driving Requirements

Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.  Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
