Job Description:

The Director of Broadcast Operations and Creative Video (GA051) will lead Longwood Athletics' broadcast operation and serve as the primary administrator for all ESPN+ and live event productions. This position is responsible for the planning, execution, staffing, and continued growth of the department's broadcast efforts while also supporting creative video initiatives that enhance the visibility of Longwood Athletics and its student-athletes.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead producer and administrator for all ESPN+ and live event broadcasts.

  • Oversee all aspects of broadcast planning, execution, staffing, and quality control.

  • Manage broadcast equipment, production infrastructure, and technology needs.

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise students, freelancers, and part-time production staff.

  • Coordinate with conference, institutional, and external partners to ensure compliance with broadcast standards and best practices.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance production quality, improve efficiencies, and modernize the department's broadcast operation.

  • Collaborate with communications, marketing, and game operations staff to support department goals and initiatives.

  • Assist with the creation of video content for social media, recruiting, storytelling, sponsorship activation, ticket sales, fundraising, and other departmental priorities.

  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience in live event production, broadcasting, or video production, preferably in collegiate athletics

  • Strong understanding of broadcast operations, production workflows, and industry-standard equipment

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as required.

 

Additional Information:

This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
