
POSITION SUMMARY
The assistant director of athletic communications will assist in the day-to-day communications and media relations efforts for all 24 varsity athletic programs at Loras College, including the 23 NCAA Division III athletic teams, under the direct supervision of the director of athletic communications. Additional consideration will be given to those candidates who possess experience in creative media, including photography and videography along with statistical experience with StatCrew and NCAA Live Stats.

Given that the College is a diocesan Catholic college, will carry out your functions of your position in support of the College’s Catholic Identity, mission and in support of Church teachings.
Keep in-game statistics for selected sports
Assist in game management for home athletic events
Shared responsibility for the maintenance and content creation for Duhawks.com and social media channels for athletic programs
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the director of athletic communications
Assist with daily website content creation and maintenance including student-athlete and coach biographies, rosters, schedules, statistics and press releases
Travel with various teams, representing the athletic communications office
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s in communications, sport management or related field
Minimum two years of experience in an athletic communications office, including internship or graduate assistantship work
Skills and Abilities
Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro
Experience with digital photography and videography
Must possess advanced writing and editorial skills
Previous experience with the SIDEARM Sports Content Management System
Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge and experience of live streaming software and equipment
Special Working Conditions
Requires weekend, evening and early morning hours
Must maintain working knowledge of compliance regulations as they relate to the NCAA, American Rivers Conference, Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference
