Assistant Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving Coach & Assistant Aquatics Director

Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach

  • Serve as an assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming and diving programs with coaching responsibilities assigned by the head coach;

  • Attend and actively participate in practices, competitions, meetings, recruiting activities, planning sessions, and other essential program functions;

  • Assist in the administration and management of the men's and women's swimming and diving programs as assigned by the head coach;

  • Actively recruit, evaluate, and retain student-athletes who are academically, athletically, and socially aligned with the mission and standards of Luther College;

  • Assist in achieving roster management, recruitment, retention, and competitive success goals established by the head coach and athletics department;

  • Foster the academic success, personal development, leadership growth, and well-being of student-athletes;

  • Support a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, accountability, respect, and competitive excellence;

  • Assist with team travel, meet operations, equipment organization, and other operational aspects of the program;

  • Demonstrate professionalism and engagement in professional development activities, including remaining current with coaching techniques, recruiting strategies, sport-specific trends, and NCAA Division III best practices;

  • Adhere to the rules, policies, and regulations established by Luther College, the Midwest Conference, and the NCAA;

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, philosophy, and goals of Luther College, NCAA Division III athletics, and the Luther College Athletics Department;

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or Director of Athletics.

Assistant Director of Aquatics Center

  • Assist with the daily operation and administration of the Aquatics Center;

  • Assist with scheduling, training, supervision, and evaluation of lifeguards and student employees;

  • Assist with oversight of pool operations, facility scheduling, risk management practices, and safety procedures;

  • Maintain required certifications and assist in ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards, policies, and operational procedures;

  • Assist with community programming, special events, rentals, camps, and other aquatics-related initiatives;

  • Collaborate with campus partners and athletics staff to support the effective operation of the Aquatics Center;

  • Assist with event management and departmental initiatives as assigned;

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Aquatics and/or Director of Athletics.
