Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach

McPherson College is seeking dynamic and innovative applicants for the position of Men’s and Women’s Head Tennis Coach. This position reports to the Athletic Director and is a full-time, exempt position, eligible for college benefits package. This is a 12-month position.

The Head Tennis Coach is responsible for the overall operation of a highly successful men’s and women’s tennis program. The coach is responsible for developing and guiding the tennis program by mentoring, teaching and providing the guidance and support necessary for the student athletes to be successful in their athletic and academic endeavors. The coach will represent McPherson College, its mission, and the Athletic department's program and goals in a positive manner.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the recruitment and retention of student-athletes; budget management; competition and practice scheduling; team travel; community service; academic success monitoring; enforcement of team policies and procedures; fund raising; leading training sessions and knowledge of and adherence to college, conference and NAIA rules and regulations.

About our ideal candidate

Experience: Previous coaching experience required. Heading coaching experience preferred in a college setting.

Education: A baccalaureate degree. Master’s degree preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills are necessary.

Other Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required and working with budgets.

Travel is a requirement of this position and a valid driver’s license is required. Working nights and weekends particularly during tennis season is also an expectation of this position.
