Associate Commissioner for Championships & Sport Administration

The Mid-American Conference (MAC) is accepting applications for an Associate Commissioner for Championships & Sport Administration. This position provides strategic leadership and hands-on administrative oversight for the Conference’s Olympic sports and championship operations (currently 20 sports and championships). The Associate Commissioner manages the Conference’s Championships Department staff and serves as the primary sport liaison for conference-sponsored sports as assigned. This role emphasizes operational excellence, collaborative governance, fiscal responsibility, and creative problem-solving to maximize resources while delivering high-quality championship experiences for student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and fans.

The Associate Commissioner plays a significant operational role in the planning and execution of the Conference’s men’s and women’s basketball tournaments and serves as the Conference liaison to the Council of Senior Administrators. The position also provides oversight and strategic direction for the Conference’s signage and branding program, merchandising initiatives, and awards program, with a focus on brand consistency, revenue generation, and student-athlete recognition.
