POSITION SUMMARY: The Equipment Manager is responsible for all of the varsity athletic programs at Moravian University.  This individual will also oversee the Under Armour contract, inventory management, issuing of gear, laundry services, and equipment management.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a daily, monthly, and yearly calendar regarding equipment room operations and service functions.

  • Consults with coaches, determining annual athletic uniforms and equipment needs.

  • Fits and maintains equipment for student-athlete per manufacturer specifications (helmet fitting/reconditioning, shoulder pad fitting/reconditioning, evaluation of equipment health, etc.)

  • Monitor and track orders from placement through delivery to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.

  • Organize and oversee the distribution and collection of equipment.

  • Generates status and maintains an inventory of all uniforms and equipment.

  • Keeps accurate records to generate billing for all non-returned equipment and apparel.

  • ​​Manage reconditioning and maintenance of all equipment.

  • Develop and manage the process for laundry services for all in season athletic teams, including scheduling and managing the maintenance of laundry equipment.

  • Coordinate locker room assignments for in season, visiting teams and officials.

  • Repair and maintain equipment/uniforms as needed.

  • Assist in managing the athletic equipment and apparel contract. 

  • Train and supervise full-time and student worker staff.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation.


QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) certification is preferred. Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles of inventory control/accountability, purchasing/receiving and maintenance of equipment. Candidates should exhibit strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Candidates must be detail oriented and demonstrate excellent organizational and time-management skills. Fundamental knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is desired. Supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Strong technical and inventory skills are necessary. Must be highly reliable, flexible and adaptable. A valid Driver's License. The ability to work evenings and weekends is required.
