
Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coaching & Creating a Positive Student-Athlete Experience
Provide leadership and support to all facets of the program in advancing the mission of the College and Athletics department.
Administer a competitive NCAA Division III program in accordance with college, NCAA, and Centennial Conference policies.
Coach, motivate, counsel, and support student-athletes in realizing their potential for personal growth and development as students, athletes, and members of the Muhlenberg campus community.
Focus on player development through individual and team practices, training sessions and film analysis including practice film, game film, and opponent scouting reports.
Achieve team success within and beyond the conference.
Hire, mentor and supervise coaching staff and student managers.
Community & Alumni Engagement
Promote strong parent, alumni, and community relations.
Lead and participate in Division of College Life and College-wide committees and initiatives.
Actively participate in fundraising activities in support of the College and Muhlenberg Athletics.
Student-Athlete Recruiting & Retention
Establish and meet annual recruitment goals, working with the Director of Athletics & Assistant Director of Athletics for Recruitment and Retention to ensure long-term recruiting goals are being achieved.
Maintain recruiting software, monitor the various recruiting services, and analyze national recruiting trends and research/review each area to support recruiting goals.
Oversee on-campus recruiting, including attending College recruitment events, and organizing campus visits with recruits.
Participate in off-campus recruiting, including showcases and camps on a year-round basis.
Professional Development
In collaboration with the Director of Athletics, develop an annual professional development plan that will ensure awareness of trends, best practices, new information, etc. related to athletics, recreation, student development, and leadership practices and skills.
Assume a secondary assignment commensurate with abilities, interests and departmental needs. Including but not limited to game management duties.
