JOB SUMMARY
The Compliance & Academic Coordinator reports to the Director of Athletics while working collaboratively with the Compliance Officer, Faculty Athletics Representative, coaches, and academic support staff. This position is responsible for assisting in the administration of NCAA compliance and supporting academic success initiatives for student-athletes across 14 NCAA Division II programs.
MAJOR DUTIES
Assist in monitoring compliance with NCAA, MIAA, and institutional rules and regulations.
Maintain accurate records related to eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, and playing and practice seasons.
Support certification of initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility for student-athletes.
Assist with rules education for coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
Monitor recruiting activities and maintain recruiting logs and documentation.
Assist in preparing NCAA and conference reports.
Support academic success initiatives including study hall coordination, progress tracking, and academic monitoring.
Serve as a liaison between athletics and campus academic support services.
Provide regular communication to coaches regarding academic standing and eligibility concerns.
Assist with student-athlete orientation and life skills programming.
Maintain confidentiality of academic and compliance-related information.
Follow and abide by all institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Assist with game day events as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Knowledge of academic support practices for student-athletes.
Skill in organization, data management, and record keeping.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed in an office environment with occasional evening or weekend responsibilities tied to athletics events or academic programming.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
May assist in supervision of student workers or interns as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in athletics compliance, academic support, or related field (internship, GA, or full-time)
Strong organizational and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree
Experience working with NCAA compliance software systems
Familiarity with NCAA Division II rules and regulations
Annual salary $41,000.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
Projected start date June 1, 2026
