
Northwestern College is seeking applicants for an athletic performance graduate assistant (GA) beginning August 1, 2026. Qualified applicants will design and implement strength and conditioning programs for various (4-5) athletic teams, as well as assist with football, provide instruction for safe and effective lifting technique and equipment use, communicate with sport coaches, athletic trainers and other athletic performance staff members, and oversee and mentor undergraduate strength and conditioning students.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field
CPR/AED/First Aid certification
CSCS or SCCC certification or working toward completion of certification – must be completed by start date
Previous experience in athletic performance programming and coaching preferred
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to work effectively with student-athletes and colleagues
Acceptance into the Northwestern College Master of Education program OR an accredited online program elsewhere
This is a 2- to 3-year position determined by program of study. The position will be a 10-month (August-June) commitment. Compensation includes a 10-month stipend, graduate tuition for the Northwestern College program or stipend provided for an external master’s program, and housing with an on-campus meal plan.
