Creative Content & Event Marketing Graduate Assistant

Northwestern College is seeking applicants for the graduate assistant position of creative content and event marketing, beginning August 1, 2026. This position plays a key role in enhancing the game day atmosphere and overall brand presence of Red Raider athletics through creative storytelling, video production, fan engagement and in-game entertainment. The creative content and event marketing graduate assistant will utilize video, motion graphics, music, social media and live-event production to engage students, alumni, fans and supporters of Red Raider athletics. The successful candidate will help create an elite game day environment through innovative promotions, strategic fan engagement efforts and creative digital content. This position will report to the director of athletic communications and work collaboratively with the director of athletic creative content and assistant athletic director for facilities.

 

General Responsibilities:

·         Develop digital media content, graphics, motion graphics and promotional videos to enhance the Red Raider athletics brand

·         Create scripts, videos and motion graphics for use on venue video boards and social media platforms

·         Coordinate music playlists and game day audio using the Neptune GameTime platform

·         Create and operate light show effects for the stadium and Bultman Center

·         Implement marketing and fan engagement strategies designed to increase attendance, student involvement and overall game day atmosphere

·         Manage a comprehensive game day plan that includes, but is not limited to, halftime activities, community promotion partners, alumni honorees, fan of the game recognition, cheer and dance coordination, pep band coordination, light show effects coordination and student section themes

·         Collaborate with the Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) to promote a supportive and energetic culture surrounding Red Raider athletics

·         Develop interactive halftime games and fan experiences for all age groups

·         Work with local businesses and community partners to secure prizes and promotional opportunities for game day activities

·         Work collaboratively with VP for athletics on special events (Homecoming, N-Dubs award show, NAIA championship events, Hall of Fame ceremony, etc.)

·         Serve on the N-Dubs Awards Show Committee, assisting with video production, graphics and event presentation elements

·         Help produce sport-specific programs and seasonal promotional posters

·         Serve on the Game Day Experience Committee, collaborating weekly to improve the fan experience at athletic events

·         Understand and agree to abide by the mission of NWC and Red Raider athletics

 

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sport management or other sport related field

·         Proficiency in video and graphic creation, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite products

·         Experience with coordinating and implementing athletic programming events

·         Must be enrolled and on track to successfully complete a master’s degree in an accredited program

 

This is a 2- to 3- year position determined by the program of study, with a 10-month (June-May) commitment. Compensation includes a 10-month stipend and housing with an on-campus meal plan.
