Duties and Responsibilities: This position is a full-time position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsible for effectively working with qualified student-athletes and assisting with all aspects of coaching, planning, and day-to-day operations of the men’s and women’s track and field program including: identifying and recruiting quality student-athletes, assist in planning and execution of training plans, assist with scheduling and budgeting as well as travel plans, assist in academic progress for the student athletes, develop social media opportunities to promote the program and assist with fundraising and community service and other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or Director of Athletics. Duties priority are for women’s and men’s Track and Field program and the applicant will assist with the women’s and men’s cross country program as warranted. Applicant will have some teaching duties in the HSSE dept as needed. Responsible for compliance with policies and procedures of the University, Great American Conference (GAC), NCAA and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Master’s preferred.
Collegiate experience desirable
Have a valid driver’s license
The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment
Thorough understanding of NCAA rules compliance
Experience playing and coaching in the sport she/he coaches
Must be certified or willing to be certified in AED (Automated External Defibrillators)/CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Able to remain calm in situations where emotions are strained
Committed to both athletic and academic excellence
