Job Description

The Director, Videoboard Operations will Produce engaging fan experiences by integrating new LED technologies and data-driven graphics across all athletic venues with unique content and production workflows. Lead the integration, and operation of LED displays for all athletics events to enhance the overall fan experience through consistent, branded content, real-time data usage, and execution of Learfield sponsorship activations. Own the technical show-control ecosystem that powers 59 LED surfaces across nine locations, including Ohio Stadium, Schottenstein Center, Covelli Center, Ty Tucker Tennis Center, Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, Bill Davis Stadium, Buckeye Field, Buckeye Varsity Field, and the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

Manage day-of-event operation of graphics playback and control systems for non-16:9 LED displays, while also maintaining/updating systems and media/asset management for Ross XPression, Ross DashBoard, MotionRocket LaunchPad, and Daktronics Show Control. Serves as the central point of leadership and execution for the setup, configuration, and management of all data-driven graphics systems across every venue, ensuring consistent standards, scalable workflows, and seamless real-time data integration for all events including stats, lower thirds, and other data fields. Serve as a liaison between Live Events Producers and Video Engineering Technology by translating rundowns and creative intent into repeatable workflows, templates, customized DashBoard control panels, and reliable data flows that enable efficient, user-friendly operation in fast-paced live environments.

Ensure collaboration, creation, implementation, and operation of graphics, animations, statistical information, and CG effects across all relevant LED platforms while protecting Ohio State brand integrity and improving videoboard consistency venue-to-venue. Work closely with Learfield, and internal stakeholders to support sponsorship fulfillment requests, activations. Partner with 3rd party platforms and emerging technology partners to maximize efficiencies and identify opportunities to enhance fan and brand engagement and drive revenue generation. Assist in defining the vision and purpose of new LED displays by determining desired technology, functionality, and content strategy, including creation of digital real estate for Learfield and its partners for revenue generation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in live event videoboard/scoreboard production technology, show control, or production engineering required. Advanced proficiency with Ross XPression to design, build, implement, and operate templated graphics systems, including an in-depth understanding of its coding language. Demonstrated experience creating and managing customized Ross DashBoard systems and operator-friendly control interfaces. Working knowledge of graphics content as it corresponds to rundowns for live programs, with the ability to collaborate with Producers, Directors, Technical Directors, and Engineering teams to ensure functionality and on-time execution.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Ross XPression, Ross DashBoard, MotionRocket LaunchPad, Daktronics Show Control, and/or comparable playback and venue control systems. Experience integrating real-time stats/data sources into live graphics workflows. Proficiency with Adobe After Effects; Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Premiere preferred. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and training skills with a passion for continuous improvement and operational consistency across multiple venues. Experience within the professional or collegiate sports industry preferred.
