
Old Dominion University, NCAA Division I institution, and member of the Sun Belt Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Men’s Golf Coach.
The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Men’s Golf Coach and will assist in managing the men’s golf program and overseeing all aspects of a NCAA Division I program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: instructing, coaching and counseling the student-athletes in the men’s golf program; monitoring and supporting the academic progress of the student-athletes; fostering a strong and cohesive team culture; the planning and implementation of practices; the identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes; general administrative and operational tasks to ensure the efficient operations of the program; and promoting the University and golf program by maintaining a high profile with the constituencies important to fundraising and public relations.
Required qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree with experience equivalent to an advanced degree.
- Knowledge and understanding of collegiate golf are required. Prior golf coaching experience and / or golf instruction experience are preferred. Collegiate golf playing experience is preferred.
- Effective organizational, communication, and independent decision-making skills are essential.
