Development Associate - Major Gifts (2 Openings)

Ole Miss Athletics FoundationFull-TimeOxford, MS

-Identify, cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts of $25,000 and above

-Manage and strategically grow a portfolio of approximately 200 donors and prospects

-Conduct a minimum of 180 in-person donor visits annually

-Build and maintain strong relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations

-Collaborate closely with the Major Gifts team to achieve established fundraising goals

-Develop and execute strategic, creative fundraising plans to support departmental priorities

-Secure philanthropic support for key athletic department initiatives and needs

-Plan and participate in donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events, including home games and special engagements

-Represent Ole Miss Athletics Foundation at on-campus and off-campus events with a high level of professionalism

-Promote the Foundation through innovative outreach, engagement, and marketing efforts

-Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment across both Major Gifts and Annual Fund teams

-Ensure full compliance with NCAA, SEC, and University policies, maintaining the highest standards of integrity

-Travel extensively and work evenings and weekends as needed

-Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Essential Functions:

-Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with major gift donors and prospects

-Actively participate in donor engagement and stewardship events

-Travel regularly to conduct donor visits and support development activities

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Strong and positive leadership skills.

  • Computer application skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word, Apple products, and email.

  • Knowledge of the practices, principles, and methods of fundraising and general fund management.

  • Knowledge of NCAA and SEC compliance rules and regulations.

  • Ability to be highly energetic, self-starting, and creative.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Ability to effectively work in a highly consultative and collaborative environment.

  • Ability to give and receive information through vision, speaking and listening, and effective motor coordination. Corrective devices may be used.
