Job Summary:

 The Coordinator, Athletic Facilities, Equipment, and Operations will issue and keep records of athletic equipment, make minor repairs to equipment and maintenance of laundry operations. The Coordinator, Athletic Facilities, Equipment, and Operations is responsible for courteous guest relations to visiting teams and officials and will ensure visitors are comfortable and familiar with the building and sport-specific arena, visitors/officials locker rooms and athletic equipment needed for the event.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent in a related field

  • One (1) or more years of athletic equipment experience

A relevant combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver’s license

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of athletic equipment terminology

  • Basic knowledge of the methods, tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in maintenance work

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

  • Ability to perform effectively under strict time constraints

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion

Representative Job Duties:

  • Oversee all aspects of equipment operations, including issuance, sizing, maintenance of protective equipment, and uniforms. Provide feedback to coaches regarding equipment usage, repair, and ordering.

  • Maintain an efficient laundry operation to support all teams and student-athletes.

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown. Support coaches with setup for practices and intercollegiate contests.

  • Monitor athletic facilities during daily on-site activities and report any problems, issues, or damages. Ensure an adequate supply of equipment for intramurals and general use.

  • Schedule, supervise, and train student staff to support equipment needs and facility operations.

  • Provide assistance to external groups utilizing the facilities and to event spectators. Welcome and escort visiting teams and officials to locker rooms.

  • Support physical facilities operations to ensure efficiency, functionality, appearance, and safety. Observe all operating and safety regulations to protect equipment, property, and personnel.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional travel with a team as needed.

Shift:

Non Standard Shift: This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours to support practices, competitions, and special events as outlined in the job details.

Travel:

Local travel between campus locations only

Driving:

Operation of a Rensselaer vehicle for non-passenger purposes may be required; individuals performing this function must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Starting Salary/Rate:

Expected hiring range: $20.50 per/hour

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
