
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Marketing will play an integral role in driving revenue and attendance for the Department of Athletics. Along with the marketing, sales, and communications staff, this individual will assist in increasing attendance, creating a positive and exciting game day atmosphere, increasing fan engagement, and furthering the brand of Rice Athletics.

Workplace Requirements:
Job duties will be performed during both regular office hours, mornings, nights, and weekends as team schedule requires. This position will require regular travel. Additionally, the role may require moving items up to 50 pounds and spending significant time on one’s feet.
Workplace Location:
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
1+ year of related experience
Preferences:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
Master’s degree in related field
Essential Functions:
Develops the communication and brand strategy for individual programs
Writes, designs, and coordinates the production of communication and marketing materials
Recommends integrated marketing plans/programs and strategies to meet business objectives
Guides event planning and execution as needed to support marketing objectives
Assists in vendor management on specific projects
Conducts market research and analysis used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting
Assesses market opportunities and track market trends
Recommends marketing improvements based on findings
Performs all other duties as assigned
