Graduate Assistant - Internal Operations and Championships

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), a premier NCAA Division II athletic conference headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to serve as an assistant for championships, business operations, and compliance. The start date for this position is flexible, but not earlier than July 1, 2026.

 

Candidates should have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with experience as a student-athlete or working in athletics. The candidate must be admitted into a University of Colorado Colorado Springs graduate program and maintain enrollment as a full-time student to receive tuition benefits.

 

This is a part-time, temporary position, averaging less than 30 hours per week. The initial term is 12 months, renewable for up to an additional 12 months. Tuition remission up to 9 graduate credit hours per term (no more than 18 credit hours per academic year) to UCCS are provided in addition to a $1,000 monthly stipend. Students are responsible for all other fees related to enrollment. No other benefits are available.

 

The successful candidate will assist the Director for Championships and Marketing and Director for Operations and Compliance. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting with the following initiatives:

-        Oversee conference film exchange program

-        Assist with conference officiating initiatives and manage assigning software

-        Assist with preparation for conference meetings, including managing agendas and meeting space logistics

-        Take detailed minutes for all in-person meetings

-        Assist with compliance and governance

-        Oversee championship inventory, equipment preparation and handbooks

-        Oversee merchandise inventory for RMAC staff and officials

-        Review marketing plans and scripts for championship events

-        Assist with on-site coordination of championships

-        Other duties as assigned or as interests warrant

 

Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, in addition to careful attention-to-detail and strong organizational and time management skills. They should be proficient in Microsoft Office, as well as familiar with web-based programming. They should also be able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. A valid driver’s license is required.
