Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations

Oversee the management of the DuFour Center, drive capital facility projects, orchestrate elite game-day events, and lead a dedicated operations team.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Game-Day Operations: Curate a "D1-level" atmosphere for all home events. Serve (or train designated staff to serve) as the on-site commander for athletic contests, ensuring a flawless, high-energy, and professional experience for student-athletes, recruits, alumni, and fans.

  • Facility Excellence (The DuFour Center): Direct the comprehensive daily operations of the DuFour Center. Establish and enforce high operational standards to ensure the facility is pristine, secure, and always reflects the pride of our university.

  • Capital Project Execution: Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Catholic U Athletics. Act as the department's primary point of contact alongside the Athletic Director for all capital building projects, from design and construction through grand openings.

  • Master Scheduling: Maintain the master schedule for the department, balancing the needs of varsity contests, practices, intramurals, club sports, and revenue-generating outside groups.

  • Campus & Infrastructure Leadership: Serve as the primary strategic liaison to University Facilities and Grounds personnel. Advocate for the athletic department to ensure the timely, premium care and maintenance of all athletic fields and spaces.

  • Leadership & Sport Supervision: Mentor, supervise, and develop the Director of Facilities and Operations and the Operations Graduate Assistant. Additionally, serve as the primary Sport Supervisor for select varsity programs—providing performance appraisals to head coaches, monitoring budgets, and ensuring alignment with the department's mission.

  • Fiscal Strategy & Resource Management: Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and Business Manager to strategically deploy the operations budget. Track spending, procure high-quality goods/services, and project future needs to maximize our resources.

  • Student Workforce Development: Transform our student employment model. Allocate work-study funding, oversee area supervisors, and ensure our student workers are trained, mentored, and held to a professional standard.

  • External Partnerships & Revenue: Manage with the assistance of the Director of Facilities and Operations the scheduling and logistics for outside groups utilizing the DuFour Center and outdoor fields, ensuring a seamless experience that protects our facilities and drives department revenue.

  • Compliance: Uphold the integrity of Catholic University by ensuring absolute compliance with all national, local, university, NCAA, and Landmark Conference regulations and codes.
