
Position Summary: The Director of Athletics Ticket Sales will work directly with the Assistant Athletic Director of Ticket Sales & Service to develop and implement comprehensive sales plans to drive revenue for Tulane Athletics. This person will oversee sales of the ticket office on a daily basis and manage the ticket sales staff with the goal of increasing ticket sales, fundraising, and other ancillary revenue. This person will collaborate with multiple departments in Athletics, including marketing, development, sponsorships, and creative services.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Function: Increase new business revenue through ticket sales and seat donations - Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans using existing and new strategies to drive revenue for all five (5) ticketed sports; develop and maintain a personal client base of current and prospective ticket buyers and priority seating donors; maximize outreach to local business and community members to increase new sales; work with marketing and development staffs to identify and target new potential ticket buyers and priority seating donors; use executed lead generation campaigns & Ticket Operations created lead lists to reach potential new customers; and collaborate with the development team to create and execute fundraising strategies to increase Green Wave Club membership and drive annual fund donations. (50%)
2. Function: Manage sales team efforts - Supervise, manage, and mentor a strong outbound sales team (phone, email, and in-person) for season, group, and other ticket packages; oversee strategies to maximize sales and renewals with an emphasis on driving new transactions. Collaborate closely with external staff to execute sales plans; and help to constantly update databases for all priority seating donors and ticket holders. (25%)
3. Function: Grow fan base through community outreach and engagement - Develop and execute a community outreach and grassroots sales plan for the Greater New Orleans area to increase ticket sales and attendance; collaborate with the ticket operations team and marketing team to identify and cultivate relationships with community organizations that lead to increased group sales; and attend community events and meetings to acquire new prospective ticket buyers. (10%)
4. Function: Manage and organize sales operations - Assist with Tulane gameday operations (stadium/arena setup, sales operations, and customer service); help coordinate and execute gameday experiences for ticket holders and groups; and organize internal sales databases and operations through Salesforce, Paciolan, and group pipelines. (10%)

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field
3 years of sales experience
OR
High School Diploma/Equivalent
9 years of sales experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Extensive experience developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue
Ability to interact effectively with fans, administrators, businesses, and community members.
Extremely organized, self-starter, intrinsically motivated
Strong time management skills and attention to detail
Possess analytical skills to make data driven decisions
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ticketing platforms, customer relationship management systems, etc.
Ability to work evenings and weekends during games and special events, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Sales experience at the NCAA Division-I level
Experience using Paciolan and Salesforce
NCAA Related:
Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
