Athletics Development Associate

The Development Associate will play a critical role in the daily operations of the Trojan Athletic Fund (TAF). This individual will gain practical experience that will prepare them for a full-time opportunity in college athletics development. The position will perform duties including but not limited to: providing general office support to Trojan Athletic Fund staff; assist in fulfilling annual membership benefits; coordinating donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities; assisting with data hygiene projects; partially overseeing student-interns; market, and promote the Trojan Athletic Fund at events serving as a game day point of contact for hospitality areas.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Provide general office support during regular business day including but not limited to: answering the telephone, responding to emails and text messages and providing any necessary follow-up; greeting visitors to the office; and providing administrative support to Trojan Athletic Fund full-time staff

  • Responsible for making phone calls to renew and upgrade Trojan Athletic Fund member donations

  • Assist development staff with member benefit fulfillment including mailings and other stewardship initiatives

  • Assist, market, and promote Trojan Athletic Fund at events and serve as a game day point of contact for donor hospitality areas

  • Responsible for data hygiene projects as well as create donor bios for full-time staff

  • Partially manage student interns by assisting with on-boarding, training, task management, etc.

  • The Trojan Athletic Fund Development Associate will collaborate closely with the ticket manager, media relations and marketing / digital media staff in the Athletic Department and University Communications and Marketing to enhance visibility through the creation of on-brand collateral to share with the UA Little Rock Community, including team posters, schedule cards, advertisements, social media graphics and other creative elements as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Communication, Business, or related field

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and time management

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•        Excellent written and oral communications skills.

•       Ability to set priorities, handle multiple assignments and deadlines, and display good judgement while operating in a flexible and professional manner.

•       Highly developed organizational and project management skills.

•       Customer-service orientation.

•       Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively.

•       Strong capabilities in website design, branding and content management.

•       Exceptional computer skills with the Adobe Creative Suite.

•       Initiative and independent thinking, planning and decision-making.

•       Ability to attend and interact with donors and prospective donors at Trojan Athletic Fund   events and athletic competitions.

•       Exceptional understanding of the values of a public higher education institution and collegiate athletics, and the ability to articulate these values to internal and external constituents.
