Director of Sports Performance

The Director of Sports Performance will be responsible for but not be limited to developing and implementing a periodized strength & conditioning program for multiple intercollegiate athletic teams. This role entails working primarily with one of our flagship sports and 2-3 other teams assigned by the Assistant AD for Sports Performance and will assist with others as necessary. They will also assist with and conduct periodic performance testing, and assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Required Education and/or Experience:

·       Bachelor Degree

·       Certification that is current and valid through either the NSCA (CSCS) or the CSCCa (SCCC)

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

·      Division I Experience

·      Master’s Degree

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Determine and assess key performance indicators, test and monitor throughout the course of the training

·       Create, communicate, implement and adapt a periodized annual training plan

·       Design, implement, progress, and regress programs as appropriate

·       Coach athletes to create trust and buy in within the teams assigned

·       Communicate with coaches, training staff, and other related staff consistently

·       Set up the weight room and clean and reset the weight room after use

·       Be able to work non-traditional work hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays

·       Organize, clean and maintain the upkeep of the Athletic Weight Rooms

·       Organize and optimize the scheduling of the facility in which you're directing

·       Provide nutritional support for the athletes, track and monitor body composition

·       Assist with testing and coaching other teams as needed

·       Provide instruction for safe and effective lifting technique and equipment use

·       Motivate student-athletes

·       Maintain student-athlete records and files

·       All other duties to be assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·       Knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

·       Be able to demonstrate and teach Olympic and Power based movements

·       Be able to demonstrate and teach basic speed and plyometric progressions
