MARKETING GRADUATE ASSISTANT

The Athletics Marketing Graduate Assistant assists with the planning and execution of marketing initiatives designed to enhance fan engagement, attendance, and brand awareness for the athletics department. This role provides hands-on experience in collegiate sports marketing, promotions, and event presentation while supporting game-day operations and departmental campaigns.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;

  • Regular admission into a Little Rock Graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School;

  • Ability to work the required hours of (FT50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in an Athletics Department or sports setting

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Promotions

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing plans for assigned sports.

  • Coordinate promotions, theme nights, giveaways, and in-game fan engagement activities.

  • Support advertising, email, and digital marketing campaigns.

Game-Day Operations & Fan Experience

  • Assist with game-day setup, activation, and breakdown of marketing elements.

  • Help manage on-field/on-court promotions, contests, and presentations.

  • Serve as a liaison with spirit groups, mascots, and promotional staff.

Digital & Social Media Support

  • Assist with social media content creation, scheduling, and live coverage.

  • Support digital engagement initiatives and promotional graphics coordination.

  • Track basic engagement and attendance metrics.

Street Team & Student Engagement

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising student marketing staff or street teams.

  • Coordinate campus outreach and student-focused initiatives.

Administrative & Professional Development

  • Assist with scheduling, reporting, and inventory management.

  • Gain exposure to NCAA, conference, and institutional marketing standards and best practices.
