Assistant Coach - Women's Soccer

As a member of the women’s soccer staff, this part-time position assists the Head Women’s Soccer Coach in the coordination, guidance, direction, and supervision of the women’s soccer program, with emphasis on academic and athletic excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to provide instruction to student-athletes during practices and competition. Evaluates athletic performance and develops / implements practice plans / schedules related to team concepts and technical skill development of student-athletes.

  • Evaluates competing players/teams and develops/implements/adjusts game/situation strategies within philosophy of head coach.

  • Counsels and motivates current student-athletes towards attainment of academic, athletic, and individual achievement. May serve as liaison to academic counselor and Knights Leadership Academy regarding student-athlete progress towards graduation and professional development.

  • Assists head coach with the discipline, conduct, and image of players relative to program, Athletics and University.

  • Evaluates and recruits prospective student-athletes within Athletics, Conference, and NCAA guidelines. Establishes and maintains industry relationships as appropriate. Organizes on-campus recruiting visits and admissions documentation.

  • Assists head coach in the administration of sport program, with daily oversight of budget, equipment, scheduling and travel (team and recruiting) as assigned.

  • Coordinate and work with healthcare professionals regarding student-athlete medical treatment, injury prevention, and recovery.

  • Coordinate and work with strength and conditioning professionals regarding acclimation plans, in season and off-season strength and conditioning plans.

  • Coordinates marketing, public relations, fund-raising, and community outreach efforts for sport program as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year appropriate experience.

  • Appropriate graduate coursework or master’s degree may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position may require work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time and occasional travel.
