
UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and Big XII Conference member, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director, Strategic Communications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Strategic Communications department under the direction of the Assistant AD for Strategic Communications.
Serve as the primary media contact for women’s basketball, volleyball and other sports programs as assigned.
Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies for assigned sports.
Coordinate media relations, travel and gameday communications operations for assigned sports.
Promote UCF Athletics through the department’s official website and social media platforms, as well as through relationships with local, regional and national media.
Ensure all responsibilities are performed in accordance with UCF, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of appropriate experience.
Appropriate graduate coursework or master’s degree may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Communications or sports information experience at the collegiate level or higher.
Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite and Genius software.
Strong communication, organizational, writing, editing and social media skills.
Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position may require work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time and occasional travel.
