Athletic Ticket Operations & Sales Assistant (Intern)

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Ticket Operations, the non-benefits position assists with the daily operations of the Athletic ticket box office. Requirements and responsibilities include but are not limited to: customer service, sales, printing and distribution of tickets, box office event management, sales reporting, cash handling, and sales/deposit reconciliation for all athletic and special events.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and executes ticketing operations for assigned sport(s). Contributes to ticketing operation efforts for all other sports.

  • Serves as game day ticket manager for events as assigned; duties including but not limited to staffing, customer service, ticket printing, pass lists/will call, and game-day sales.

  • Assists with the training, scheduling, and supervision of a large student worker group.

  • Supports the ticket sales team by cold calling clients to sell season packages, single game tickets, and group experiences.

  • Handles the inbound tickets email inbox and phone line, responding to general customer service inquiries and concerns.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Applicant may either be in pursuit or have completed their Undergraduate or Graduate degree.

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and event days

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or event operations

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Paciolan, Ticketmaster, or similar platforms)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to problem-solve and provide excellent customer service under pressure

  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
