
Coaching –
• Teach specific techniques during practice to cheerleaders;
• Oversee coaching staff in development of performance strategy;
• Plan, organize, and implement practice schedules, training sessions, clinics, and game/event preparation;
• Coordinate recruitment selection and retention of cheerleaders, including organizing tryouts and evaluation procedures;
• Ensure adherence to compliance with institutional and governing body requirements;
• Schedule and coordinate facilities, travel, and logistics for practices and games, including attendance at home/away games, donor events, and campus engagements;
• Oversee program operations, including budget management, purchasing equipment and uniforms, and distribution of travel-related funds; and
• Safeguard the health and safety of cheerleaders by following established procedures for injury prevention and response by maintaining a safe practice environment.
Strategic Initiatives –
• Support the implementation of strategic projects as prioritized by executive leadership;
• Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure project objectives and timelines are met;
• Proactively identify risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and raise concerns as appropriate;
• Ensure projects follow established lifecycle standards, governance expectations, and organizational change practices;
• Facilitate the design and execution of organizational change strategies;
• Prepare executive briefings, presentations, and synthesize materials that translate complex initiative information into clear, actionable insights;
• Coordinate cross-unit operational inputs (financial, communications, human resources) necessary for successful initiative delivery, ensuring alignment;
Promotional Initiatives –
• Protect and honor the traditions held by the University of Illinois
• Increase engagement between key campus constituents – students, alumni, community members – and university pageantry
• Grow the brand awareness of the University through community outreach and service
