
Organization's Summary Statement:
The Softball Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with the organization, development, and implementation of a competitive, NCAA Division I women’s softball program that competes in the Big Ten Conference. Responsibilities include recruiting, scouting, coaching, travel coordination, program administration, fundraising, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach will develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni, and the general public, and have knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations, as well as dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes, which are essential.
Experience: Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and university rules and regulations, as well as dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes. Strong communication, organization, and administrative skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Physical Demands: The position requires prolonged sitting and standing, as well as the ability to operate standard office equipment with manual dexterity. The role involves occasional walking to attend meetings or conduct orientations and may require lifting light office materials and equipment (up to 20 pounds). Visual acuity and effective verbal and auditory communication are essential for interacting with employees in person, by phone, or virtually.

Preferences:
Recent experience as an elite NCAA collegiate student-athlete or professional softball player. Proven record of athletic achievement and deep technical knowledge of the game. Strong desire to transition into collegiate coaching; prior college coaching experience preferred.
