
Organization's Summary Statement: The Lead Assistant Coach provides support to the Head Coach in all aspects of developing and maintaining a competitive NCAA Division I sports program. Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting and scouting prospective student-athletes, coaching and developing players, coordinating team travel, managing aspects of program administration, participating in fundraising activities, and performing other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. The Lead Assistant Coach fosters positive relationships with student-athletes, colleagues, university staff, alumni, and the broader community. A commitment to NCAA, conference, and university rules compliance, as well as the academic success of student-athletes, is essential.
Physical Demands: The scope of the position frequently requires evening, weekend, and holiday work (Non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; Constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Preferences: Experience within the NCAA Division 1 as a coach, practice partner, and/or student-athlete.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and university rules and regulations, as well as dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes. Strong communication, organization, and administrative skills.
