
The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of a NCAA Division III baseball program that advances the mission of intercollegiate athletics and the University.
The head coach supervises assistant coaching staff; leads student recruiting and retention efforts; coaches student athletes and fosters their skill development; leads coaching plans and implementation at practices and competitions; provides for students’ safety, health and wellbeing; assures compliance with NCAA, UMAC and university policies; provides sound fiscal management; supervises equipment oversight, scheduling, travel planning, and summer camps; oversees off-season programs and athlete development; and coordinates program communication and fundraising efforts with the Athletic Director and External Relations.
The head coach will build an effective coaching staff with a shared vision, coordinate a comprehensive recruitment program for student athletes working collaboratively with the Office of Admissions, build and retain a diverse and talented team, foster good sportsmanship and a climate of respect, and provide an environment that supports students in achieving their athletic, academic and life goals.
This position must demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
