The Head Women's Soccer Coach plays a crucial leadership role in fostering athletic excellence, academic achievement, and personal development within the university's women's soccer program. This position demands a strategic approach to coaching, recruitment, and operations, aligning the program closely with institutional missions and athletic department objectives. Through effective mentorship, disciplined oversight, and comprehensive program management, the Head Coach ensures the success of student-athletes both on and off the field.
Program Leadership & Coaching:
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the women's soccer program that aligns seamlessly with the mission of the university and the broader objectives of the athletic department. Design and facilitate effective team practices, competitive game strategies, and targeted skill-development sessions to consistently achieve high levels of team performance. Regularly evaluate and mentor student-athletes, fostering individual growth and enhancing overall team dynamics and competitive success.
Recruitment & Retention:
Actively identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who exemplify both strong academic achievement and exceptional athletic potential. Cultivate meaningful relationships with high school and club coaches to strengthen recruitment networks and pipelines. Emphasize student-athlete retention through dedicated support and attention to academic success, while rigorously ensuring compliance with NCAA, GLVC, and institutional regulations.
Academic & Student-Athlete Development:
Consistently monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, collaborating closely with academic support services to maintain eligibility standards and promote timely degree completion. Foster a robust culture of leadership, discipline, and personal growth within the women's soccer program, preparing student-athletes to succeed beyond their collegiate athletic experience.
Compliance & Operations:
Ensure comprehensive adherence to all applicable NCAA Division II, GLVC, and institutional regulations and guidelines. Efficiently manage team operations, including budget oversight, travel logistics, and equipment procurement in close coordination with athletic administration. Actively participate in fundraising initiatives, alumni engagement activities, and community service efforts to support and elevate the visibility and success of the women's soccer program.
