
ATHLETIC PSYCHOLOGIST/COUNSELOR

Provide mental health psychology services, drug and alcohol counseling, mental health assessments and education to student-athletes and sports programs. Provide education and prevention programming on clinical psychological issues to student athletes, coaches, athletic department staff, and other constituents. Will need to work some evenings and weekends depending on student-athletes’ needs and schedules. Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in mental health related field required and two years providing mental health services to students ages 16-24 in an educational environment. Demonstrated contextual and cultural understanding of elite sport systems and individuals essential. Clinical/prevention experience in the areas of eating disorders/disordered eating and interdisciplinary healthcare modalities required. Eligibility to be licensed as a psychologist, LCSW, or LIMHP in the state of Nebraska within one year of hire required. Preferred qualifications: PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Two years’ experience providing mental health services to student-athletes and two years’ experience providing psychological skills training for sport.
