Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.
Position Summary
The Ticket Office Assistant will support the athletic ticket office in delivering exceptional service to patrons throughout the ticket purchase and fulfillment process. This role is responsible for assisting with daily ticket office operations, including answering inbound phone calls, responding to inquiries through the ticket office email inbox, and providing general customer service support.
The Ticket Office Assistant will also serve as the primary ticket operations contact for multiple Olympic sports, overseeing ticketing needs and game-day preparation with guidance and support from full-time staff. In this capacity, the position will help coordinate ticket distribution, troubleshoot patron issues, and ensure a smooth ticketing experience for each event.
This role works collaboratively with departments across University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Athletics, including marketing, event management, sports administration, and The Rams Club, to help provide the best possible gameday and ticketing experience for our fans and supporters.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Management Preferences
Customer service oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
