Assistant Director of Event and Game Operations

The purpose of the Assistant Director of Event and Game Operations is to assist the Assistant Athletics Director of Event and Game Operations in all facets in relation to internal and external events held within the Athletics Department. The key role will be event manager/sport oversight for assigned sports. In addition to sport oversight, the Assistant Director is responsible for coordinating all aspects of special events and facility rentals held within athletic department facilities. Maintain key working relationships with coaches, staff, visiting teams, patrons, and external constituents regarding events. Work hand in hand with event operations and facilities (in addition to all other departments) to produce quality execution of all events, internal and external. Draft and adapt policies, procedures, manuals, correspondence, reports, and services for event management data. This includes facility rental contract execution, procurement, and financial review. Assist in conducting Conference and NCAA postseason championships. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 1 year of related experience in event management, sports operations, or a related field

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree. 

Required Certifications and Licenses: Valid Driver's License
