Graduate Assistant - Athletics

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support all areas of the athletics department

  • Assist the athletic office with daily operations and administrative tasks

  • Support game day operations for all sports

  • Assist with collecting and organizing coaches' credit card statements

  • Coordinate communication with athletic department sponsors and fulfillment of sponsor benefits

  • Assist with athletic media day photo shoots

  • Assist UPIKE SportsNetwork with all streaming services for home games including setup and breakdown

  • Assist in producing live video coverage and create digital content for the athletics department

  • Operation of PrestoSports and BoxCast platforms for live stats of home contests

  • Provide guidance and support to student workers and interns on gamedays and office operations

  • Manage gym set-up and breakdown for events, practices, and meetings

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of athletic office spaces, including routine cleaning and disinfecting

  • Managing Bear Space rosters for part-time coaches

  • Collect and distribute mail and deliveries for Athletics

  • Assist coaches with oversight of the SAAC program, including developing new ideas of community service and outreach initiatives

  • Operate university vehicles

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required.

  • Be enrolled full-time in a master’s degree program at UPIKE and eligible for participation in the Graduate Assistant program (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better preferred).

  • Highly organized with great attention to detail

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Streaming, Quickbooks, Ledgers

  • Professional communication skills, both in person and via phone, email, etc.

  • Knowledge in event management or marketing experience

  • Ability to manage and balance multiple tasks

  • Must have an excellent attitude and work well in a team setting

  • Flexible and willing to perform other responsibilities as assigned

  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, housing & a meal plan.  However, if the GA does not reside on campus, then he/she will receive a monthly stipend in lieu of room & board. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall, spring, and summer semesters

This position requires a two-year commitment.
