Senior Associate Athletic Director, Championship Resources

The University of South Alabama’s Athletics department is seeking to hire a Senior Associate Athletic Director, Championship Resources.  Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions            

Provides strategic leadership for the department’s revenue-generating efforts.

Provides oversight of philanthropic giving through the Jaguar Athletic Fund (JAF); revenue-sharing support through the Loyal, Strong & Faithful Fund (LSF); ticket sales and operations; corporate partnerships through Jaguar Sports Properties (JSP); premium seating and hospitality; special events; and other revenue-generating initiatives.

Develops an integrated approach to sustainable revenue growth, establishes measurable goals and performance expectations, evaluates results, identifies new opportunities, and coordinates efforts across all Championship Resources functions.

Serves as a highly visible representative of the University, developing authentic relationships with donors, corporate leaders, alumni, fans, community organizations, and other key stakeholders while creating meaningful opportunities for long-term participation and investment in South Alabama Athletics.

Serves as a member of the department’s senior leadership team, contributing to department-wide strategy, decision-making, and annual and long-term priorities.

Develops and leads an annual and multi-year revenue strategy for the department.

Establishes measurable revenue goals and performance expectations; monitor results, develop forecasts, and provide regular analysis and recommendations to the Director of Athletics.

Works closely with the Director of Athletics and senior leadership colleagues to align revenue strategies and resources with departmental priorities and the changing needs of intercollegiate athletics.

Identifies and develops new and diversified revenue opportunities, including premium experiences, hospitality, special events, partnerships, affinity programs, and other initiatives.

Evaluates athletics assets, inventory, experiences, and access to identify opportunities for increased revenue and engagement.

Provides strategic leadership for athletics philanthropy, including the Jaguar Athletic Fund and Loyal, Strong & Faithful Fund.

Develops strategies to increase annual giving, major gifts, membership, donor retention, and overall philanthropic participation.

Leads efforts to generate philanthropic resources supporting revenue sharing and other student-athlete and competitive priorities.

Personally cultivates, solicits, and stewards major donors and prospects while assisting the Director of Athletics, head coaches, and institutional leaders with significant gift opportunities.

Collaborates closely with University Development and Alumni Relations to coordinate priorities, prospect management, gift strategies, and donor engagement.

Provides strategic oversight of ticket sales and operations, including season tickets, group sales, renewals, retention, and new customer acquisition.

Develops strategies to increase ticket revenue, attendance, retention, and overall customer value.

Leads strategies for premium seating, hospitality, and other enhanced fan experiences.

Evaluates pricing, inventory, packaging, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for revenue growth and stronger customer relationships.

Provides leadership for the department’s in-house corporate partnership operation through Jaguar Sports Properties.

Establishes corporate revenue goals and develop strategies for new partner acquisition, retention, and account growth.

Oversees the development of new inventory, experiences, and partnership opportunities that provide value to corporate partners while supporting the goals of the department.

Aligns philanthropic giving, ticketing, corporate partnerships, premium seating, hospitality, and other revenue-generating activities around shared strategies and goals.

Develops a coordinated approach to stakeholder engagement that recognizes the broader relationship individuals and organizations have with South Alabama Athletics.

Identifies opportunities for coordinated outreach, cross-promotion, cross-selling, and deeper stakeholder participation.

Integrates head coaches into fundraising, ticket sales, corporate engagement, and other resource-generation efforts through intentional strategies and coordinated support.

Partners with Communications & Creative Strategy and Fan Engagement to support revenue initiatives through effective storytelling, communication, marketing, and fan engagement.

Builds strong partnerships across University Development and Alumni Relations and with other campus units to advance shared institutional objectives.

Regular and prompt attendance.

Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.

Related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications    

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in intercollegiate athletics, fundraising and development, sales, business development, revenue generation, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications    

Master’s degree is preferred and will substitute for one year of the required experience.
