
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Wellness & Counseling – 40%
•
Provide one-on-one nutritional assessment and counseling for cadets, addressing topics such as chronic disease management, weight management, food allergies and intolerances, performance goals, and disordered eating.
•
Track progress and develop personalized nutrition plans in alignment with cadet goals.
•
Provide group education for student organizations, athletic teams, and wellness events.
•
Coordinate wellness table events in partnership with dining services, health services, and athletics.
Athletic Nutrition Support – 40%
•
Collaborate with athletics staff and coaches to deliver targeted sports nutrition guidance for cadet athletes.
•
Focus areas include performance fueling, hydration strategies, recovery nutrition, and game-day preparation.
•
Support nutrition-related needs aligned with training schedules and competition cycles.
Dining Services & Program Support – 20%
•
Provide guidance on allergen management, nutritional transparency, and dietary accommodations across dining platforms.
•
Partner with culinary and operations teams to enhance menus based on nutrition standards and cadet feedback.
•
Deliver training for dining staff, including the AllerTrain allergen awareness program.
•
Organize and execute wellness tabling and engagement events in partnership with dining and campus partners.
Qualifications:
•
Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN)
•
2+ years of relevant experience in a higher education, clinical, or athletic setting
•
Current licensure in State of Virginia
•
Strong interest or experience in sports nutrition preferred
•
Collaborative, yet self-directed and independently motivated
•
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a student-first mindset
•
Strong planning and organizational skills to consistently meet deadlines
