Job Summary
Assists the head coach with daily activities of assigned sports program, which may include recruiting, training, coaching, scheduling, academics, retention, program development and fundraising.
Essential Functions
Coaches and oversees one (1) or more functional aspects of team administrative management and/or programs. Assists with academics and retention of student athletes, ensuring adherence to University standards. Interacts with donors and assists with fundraising and booster club activities. Communicates with media relations. Monitors student performance and maintains student athlete records. Manages financial transactions for recruiting visits. Monitors budgets related to assigned programs and recruiting visit expenditures. Reconciles monthly statements and billings, and provides team financial reports.
Job Duties
Assisting in the daily operation of the program, including team practices and drills.
Supporting student athletes in their academic and personal development goals.
Assisting with various program related issues as needed.
Collaborate with the head coach to develop and implement training strategies to enhance performance.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field
One (1) year of:
• Experience in recruiting and coaching high school or college athletics OR
• Coaching experience at the high school level or above OR
• Coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level
Required License/Certifications/Training:
Valid Kansas drivers license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to connect with a diverse population.
Commitment to the highest level of student-athlete welfare.
Adhere to NCAA, AAC and University Guidelines.
Strong communication skills both domestically and internationally
Highly organized and reliable with great follow up and follow through
Knowledge of recruiting regulations and ability to do so regularly
High energy not only at practice but in daily interactions with staff/student-athletes
Understanding of the technical and tactical aspects of a successful tennis team but also an individual tennis player
Ability to teach, motivate, lead and mentor student-athletes
Leadership skills that create good teams, athletes and culture within the sport.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in a related field

Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to position self to participate in development appropriate activities with athletes. Ability to move or traverse across campus, within buildings and offices, and/or across external environments. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment. Ability to drive state vehicle.
